After all was packed up, I headed first into town to top up the fuel. Then I left towards Semonkong, where I had booked for 2 nights, maybe 3 nights as I feel like a rest day.

The ride was stunning as the landscape was just scenic!! And all these little villages plotted along. In the mountains you find a lot of herder, especially on the famous Basotho horse. These herders always look like they will rob a bank as their woolen hats over their face - and they wear the traditional blankets!

In Semonkong I followed the signs to the Guesthouse and google, but I had to stop various times to confirm as it went right through all the shops and the last bit bumpy downhill 😅 but google was right 😆

The check in was fast and I hot a lovely little rondevel on my own, with a fire place 🤩

Once I settled I went to the restaurant gor some lunch, which was delicious.

What is the cool on this place, is that a main route from the villagers goes right through the premises. So lots of guys on their horses, loaded donkeys, children after school, etc passing through. And the horses of yhe Guesthouse just roam around the houses and the tables of the restaurant 🤩 So very easy decided to stay 3 nights, even though not cheap, but it is a little oasis!

I got talking yo a Spanish girl, Paloma, that also plans to hike to the waterfall tomorrow. So we decided to go together and to meet at 9am at the restaurant. Cool!

In the evening I went for a drink to the bar as that is the oy place with Internet, crappy Internet though. Unfortunately my local SIM didn't work too good as the Guesthouse is in a dort of valley.

Oh, and between 22h00 and 8h00 the electricity will be switched off, every night!

So I had a very early night 😂

Unfortunately I didn't sleep very well, but could be as switched off the light by 21h00 😂

Breakfast was delicious and enormous 😋😋 so that I was "fuelled" for the hike with Paloma. Did I mention that we were on about 2300m altitude? On our way up, out of the premises, Paloma showed me the dorms and the communal kitchen, where I met Liz&Jim. A lovely couple from South Africa, themselves bikers and horse owners - how cool is that!! After lots of chatting we exchanged numbers to stay in touch as heading their way!

About 10h00 Paloma and I were finally on the way to the water fall. Well, we must have taken a wrong turn, probably the shortcut (we thought it is), so suddenly we were at a steep downhill and no more tracks around us 🤔😳 Of course came directly a herder and wanted to help - and money, but once we had the direction we send him away...

Finally we got to a view point to the waterfall, from the side. We decided to go yo the edge of it as that l9oked close ... well, it was just climbing down 'caminhos da cabra" 😂

But once at the edge, it was pretty impressive. Abseiling from there (200m) holds the Guinness Book of Record! Sip Falls in Uganda was enough for me!!

After a while we wanted to go back to the village and Guesthouse, along the river as earlier we saw a bridge from the distance.

There were only Caminhos da cobra, which was a good workout 😅

Once crossed the bridge it was all easy back to the village and then to the Guesthouse. It was a good 3 hours tour, so we were hungry and had some lunch at the restaurant.

We said we will meet again later for the sunset hike.

At 17h00 we met at the dormitory, but by the time we left, the sun was nearly gone due to a big cloud. As Paloma does macrame handcraft for living, I asked her to show me some stuff as I liked her ring. Unfortunately the rings are only for thin fingers 🤭 but I ended up with some bracelets.

Later I went to the bar for the wifi to post on social media, but it is soooo slow 🙄

About 20h00 I went to my room as I needed to charge my phones before the electricity gets switched off at 22h00. In the communal kitchen was a lovely couple from Australia with their little daughter. They had arrived today during the day.

This night I had slept a bit better! During breakfast Paloma gave me company. She was checking on the clients if someone could give her a lift to Maseru. Finally she was lucky with a German couple. They 1st want to pass y the waterfall before heading off to Maseru. I asked, if I could join them on their waterfall trip.

At 10h30 we all headed off to the waterfall - in the jeep. They were so kind and even drove me back to the village before they headed off to Maseru.

The rest of yhe day I started to prepare my next accomodation in Hlotse and finally I could do my finger nails; they had started already to splinter 🙄

In the evening I tried my luck with the wifi at the bar but really slow 🙄
