Hurray, felt better today, so after checkout we moved on. By the time we hit the road the legendary crazy Mhyrra driver are already through as they have to be at Wilson airport at 11am. Search for some YouTube videos on these insane drivers 🤯😱

The traffic was ok, scenery very green with a lot of tea and cafe plantation. In Meru the traffic qas crazy as it seemed everybody on the road, speedbumps and lots of inclination - and all basically at same time/place 😱😳 so I was glad being out of town!

After a while the vegetation changed, as we started to climb. It started to look more like in Europe, also as a lot of farm land, in big dimension though. We passed about 2500m and it got 20°C. About 14h00 we reached Nanyuki and stayed at the Riverside Villas.. I had booked a very beautiful cottage via Booking for KSH3000 and we told the girl we most probably will stay for 2 nights.

After consulting the stage of our delivery we opted to stay even for another 2 if not even 3 nights. The next morning I went to pay my cottage for the next 2 nights and said that it would be even another night probably.

Chris, the guy from Nairobi, working for the UN, was with his son Archie in the area to go to the national park to see some animals. We met then at a nice restaurant for lunch, which was nice. I hope to meet them back in Nairobi again.

The next day, after breakfast, I went to reception to pay for one more night. The girl from the reception, Diana, gave me some bad news: the cottage I am in is booked for that night, but worse is, her colleague didn't pass on the information that I paid for 2 nights, so he rented it via Arbnb 🤯😳 Seriously!! And I was the one that had to move, even though I paid also for it (but not having a receipt). Diane was really trying to help me finding the nicest cottage, but the one I was in was like 5☆ and now I moved to 2.5☆!!! I was not happy about it, but it was her colleagues fault and the owner of that cottage didn't care - so I tried to help Diane, with dropping the price. Not that that would compensate it, but shall I really wait until the next clients turn up and then what?? If we would have talked expensive accomodation yes, but we are talking just over €20 😅 However, as my plan was a Spa day I told them that I will oy move after 13h00.

That was the only highlight of the 4 nights (incl the noisy bar music) here.

Damian is in touch with (french) Franck and they are on their way from Nakuru to Nairobi, so we will try to catch them...
