After a poor breakfast I hit the road again. Until Sotik it was through the mountains, passing villages and towns, dodging traffic, nothing special.

Got again, happened already yesterday too, stopped by the police- just to chat 🙄🤪

In Sotik I stopped at a fuel station for a snack and being off the bike for a while. I marked as next stop Java House in Kisumu for lunch; glad to know the place/chain now 😁

After Sotik, in a busy village I had to 3scape an upcoming bus- luckily there was still space to escape too 🙏🙏 but that could have gone completely wrong!!

After that the road took me through tea plantations which was so beautiful. And then the road started to descent slowly, but I noticed it by the increasing temperatures. I started this morning in 17°C and by arriving in Kisumu I had passed already 33°C 🥵🥵 plus increasing humidity 🥵🥵

After lunch I went to June, which is a bit outside of the centre. On the last 3km I forked off a wide mainroad, but bumpy offroad 🤪 everybody finding its own way around potholes and cows and whatever is on the road. Then I hadto fork off to the road for the house and that was a bumpy single track 😱😱 I had to nail it and hopingit is the right way to the entrance gate 🙏

My marker stopped in front of a school gate, so I texted her - still catching my breath of the 250m offroad 😅

Junes house is in the compound of the school. After I somehow got my bike in, without dropping it- I finally could say Hallo to June. Lovely girl here from town. She showed me my room, an annex to the main house. After a well deserved shower, well more like a trickle of water, we chatted until I went to bed.

The next morning some local women came to do the whole weekly laundry by hand 😳 June has a catering company and she was busy with her team to prepare food for 120 kids for lunch, to deliver on time.

I just chilled and nearly finished the book I was reading (Contagion from Robin Cook).
