Nalimo gave me company in the morning to leave XaiXai, that was really nice!

Then it was just eating kilometres until getting off the N1 to Tofu. The first stretch was plastered in potholes and it was a bit rush hour so it took its time. Also there must have been showers during the day so there were some big puddles on that road.

Arriving in Tofu, Christian had told me which road to take, but it looked like really wet soggy sand ๐Ÿ˜ฑ - what I didn't know, it was corals and concrete ๐Ÿ™„, so would have been definitely the better option! But as I didn't know, I went the other one, also cars coming there. It was deep, wet sand ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ It was about 800m to the Guesthouse, and I arrived there covered in sweat! Not sure, how to get out of here again ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ but for now it is relax!

Sascha & Chris, the owner, gave me warm welcome and she showed me around. There was already Christian, a Swiss overlander, so that we were chatting straight away. I had brought some engine oilf for another overlander that stayed at another place. He came over to pick it up and chatting with us. Then I wanted to have a shower and to go to dinner with Christian; Mario preferred to edit his YouTube videos ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ณ

We went for some Mexican food which was nice. Really little town.

The next morning I walked to a while along the beach (to the right) and on the way back I went to the supermarket. There was a cafe next door, so I had a cafe & cake.

The rest of the day was just relaxing and chatting with Christian. This evening we went to the Japanese restaurant and I had a delicious Rahmen ๐Ÿ˜‹ Towards the end joined us Emilie, a French backpacker that was in my room, so had to move on due to my arrival. We exchanged numbers so that we could meet the next day for a cafe; Christian will move on.

After waving Good-bye to Christian in the morning I walked today to the right side on the beach, to a viewpoint. It was a lovely walk, but being alone felt a bit weird - it is in my DNA, I cannot help it ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜…

On my way back, I met with Emilie at the cafe shop and we got carried away talking. She suggested to do a day trip to the Islands outside of Vilanculo as it must be stunning. I wasn't aware of such a thing, so I started googling it ...

The afternoon was again just relaxing and catching up on my social media ๐Ÿค“

The next morning Sascha suggested for me to walk to the left all the way to the lighthouse. She didn't say how long it takes... Halfway I thought I will never reach, it appeared the lighthouse gets moving on ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜… The last bit I had to climb through bushes and deserted urbanisation to get to it. At a corner of a house, close to the lighthouse, I heard people talking and slamming doors. My instinct told me to ask them, if they drive to town and give me a lift... Luckily they did, so I raced of to take at least a picture of the lighthouse before I hopped into their beach buggy. It was 2x South African couples from White Rive ๐Ÿคญ It was nice talking to them, and it was so great to have the lift back as it was now very hot and humid - and got to high tide, which would have made the way back even more difficult!

I met again with Elilie for a cafe and we checked the tour from Vilanculo to Ilha de Bazaruto via WhatsApp with Sunset Dhow Tours. They immediately replied, which was really good. In the end we booked it. That means we soon have to move on ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ˜‰

The afternoon was again relaxing and catching up on social media. Also, always nice talking to Sascha and Chris, the owner of Kite Surf Hostel.

The next morning I walked again to the right of the beach. Unfortunately the cafe shop was today closed ๐Ÿ™„ but I found another place for a cafe.

I really do not feel like leaving this little paradise, but a boat trip in Vilanculo is waiting...
