The next morning I checked out about 9h30 as I was planning to meet Stephen, a local biker, at the restaurant from yesterday's lunch.

He was running late due to the traffic but it was nice to met up!!

About 11h30 he walked with me to the ferry station and suddenly I was under the wings of a local guy that maneuvered m fast and efficient all the way through until the waiting area. I gave him some tip - guess he was expecting some more from a Mzungu...

Whilst waiting the guy next to started talking to me - a tour guide from Zanzibar, on his way home with his wife and baby.

Boarding went fast and I got a place upstairs, outside for a nice view. Again leaving was on time! I am amazed!

The ride was nice, 90mins and I was in Zanzibar- and what I saw already looked amazing. Reminded me a bit to Havanna 🤩

I had to register with customs entering Zanzibar, and I got even a stamp in my passport 😁

The hotel provided free pick up service, which worked perfectly. It was only a short walk to the B&B, which is in an old building. The best part was the shower!! A lot water, hot and a good pressure- cannot remember when I had that the last time here in Africa!

After that I picked a snack bar on Google and walked through the old town there - I really enjoy it here!!

The evening atmosphere around the

Forodhani Park at the seafront reminded me again to Havana 🤩 full of people, kids and teenagers in and out of the water and a stunning sunset.

The next day I had booked with GetyourGuide a daytrip incl a visit to a spice farm and Prison Island.

The 1st stop was the visit to the spice farm outside of Stone Town. I was together with two Finish ladies. It was very interesting, but super slow 🐌 At the end we had a very early, but delicious lunch there. Desert was a selection of local fruits 😋

Back to Stone Town it was the trip to Prison Island, where we are going to see the oldest land turquoise (over 200 years old). First we had to wait for another guide and then for another couple to add our group. Once, after good 30mins of waiting around, that couple decided not to go with us. So the guide had to "park" them in a cafe shop 🙄 So another delay of 10mins 🙄

Prison Island was interesting but I would say, it is no a must-seen ...

Back to the city we collected the couple (after almost 2 hrs later) and then they needed an ATM - seriously 😳🙄 So another 15mins waiting!

That was then when our last part, Stone Town, started. As we got parked then in a souvenir shop to wait for the Finish girls visiting Freddie Mercury museum, I decided to leave the group as I got the city tour for the next day. We were already snailing around for 8 hrs, and that pace was really tyring!!

Back to the B&B I passed along the other hotels I picked and felt lost in the meze of the little streets

Back at the hotel I managed to book another hotel, this time with pool, for another 2 nights. After a shower I crashed in bed as that snail pace in the heat and not drinking enough I was sleeping in no time, at 20h30 🤭

The next morning I left my luggage at reception and went with the guide to the city tour. The highlights were the local market and the Slave museum. As I was the only client we were pretty fast, so we had a Soda at the beach front together.

Around lunchtime I changed from the B&B to the "Spice Palace Hotel", but as I still had another good hour for my room, I went to visit the old traditional Cafe House.

Later the afternoon I, again, tried to find my way through the meze of the small roads back to the seafront...for some reason my internal compass seems not to turn 🙄

I found a nice beach restaurant for a snack and afterwards I enjoyed the sunset atmosphere at the Forodhani Park.

The next morning I pestered FedEx as I need to sort out accomodation or even a ferry ticket. They asked for my TIN 🤔🤔 Searching Google, it is a local tax number! So I called them, explaining again that I am a tourist, on holiday, so being my agent they have to arrange it! So all Friday was wasted as today is already Monday 🙄😬 As it seems to take longer I rebooked the hotel for a 3rd night as on Booking it still had a good deal!

Around lunchtime I trued my way through the meze to the ferry port to get my ticket for Wednesday- I better stay close to FedEx to make sure I receive the package before the weekend!!

Lunch I had at a nice courtyard restaurant, but not a cheap place and not many choices...and the afternoon I was sitting at the pool reading.

The next morning I received my TIN number, which I forwarded to FedEx to proceed. Later that day I received invoices for customs but only bank details for bank transfer. So I send again an email to FedEx to please pay all the invoices for me as an international bank transfer would be approximately 3 working days! In the afternoon I called them if that is paid, but the girl will only pass on the message 🙄 Seriously!

Today I had a late lunch at the beach, but the weather changed, so it was even raining lightly for a short while. So I has to give the sunset a miss 😉
