I got up about 6am to find Kilimanjaro behind clouds 😒...so back to bed. As I couldn't really sleep I finally got up by 8h00 and started to pack up my things.

After breakfast and check-out Nico checked on the guard, and he was fine - phew!!

We went then on some sand tracks, following a route we got from a French overlander. It was nice scenery. At one junction we had to turn right and Damian was already about 200m on the wrong track. Margot and Nico took the lead and then I followed when I saw Damian turning around. It was deep sand 😳😵‍💫 so went slowly in first gear, feet's ready to paddle, until I reached hard ground about 200m onwards. Margo and Nico carried on whilst I waited for Damian. After a while I could see his helmet at the turn and next thing I don't...so I thought he is just covered by the bushes and waited...nothing...switched off my engine - silence!! That means he dropped his bike 😳🙄 Not the right place as we are in the savanna, in a national park with wild animals!! Zebras and Wildebeast I could see to my right...not sure what is as well in the bushes and high grass!!

As I didn't want to ride back in the sand, I walked back to him, calling Nico to come back to help! The rest of the walk I was 'singing' for the lions to-not-eat-me...the Wildebeast didn't like my singing and trotted off 😅🤭

Damian was fine, but we had to wait for Nico to help lifting the bike. They took then in heir car the rollback. Off we go again - me singing whilst walking back to the bike!

We carried on the track which was lovely, but had its challenging moments with sandy patches. When I could, I warned Damian with my hazzard lights. As leading,I tried sometimes to escape on the Boda Boda tracks as they had the nicer surface, mostly. Nico and Margot followed us, and like that we could deal faster with the next bike drop of Damian. This time we even took off the side panniers. However, still feeling weird walking (and singing) in the bush!! At some point we passed a local (tribe) man, he was curious about us and explained the way out; he didn't know we had a GPXtrack.

At some point we passed locals with their cattle and sheep and shortly after we were on a bone rattling corrugated road, that took us to the Namanga Gate of Amboseli. We explained to the Rangers that we came from Little Amanya Camp and all was fine. Whilst we waited, we were surrounded by local Masaai women trying to sell their handcraft 🙄 They asked me to take pictures of them to get some money, but I offered them instead taking picture of me in return 🤭🤭

From there we drove, still bone rattling corrugated roads to Namanga. I suddenly realised I missed a turn on our route, so we turned around. The teack was sandy and dusty, so I stopped a bit to let the dust settle, but nobody came. I turned around and realised Damian had dropped the bike again. As we were out of the park we shared out the Cokes and snacked something as we were hungry. As Damian was exhausted we agreed that Margot&Nico continue on the route, but I will accompany Damian on the official road. I didn't want him be alone as he is exhausted and like that easy to do mistakes. We agreed to call each other from the meeting point.

So Damian leaded and at a bridge he didn't realise the sand on the bridge and dropped the bike again. A local woman came running to help us lifting the bike. She was obviously expecting to get a few Bobs for it - seriously!! Sorry, but that is for me begging for money!!

At the meeting point I called Nico&Margot and as they were close by, we waited in the shade for them. They had already found on iOverlander a camping space and as we all agreed, that was our destination for tonight, just outside of Namanga. As we were faster on the bikes, we drove off, but stopped in the village gor a Coke and some chocolate 😇

It was a nice camp and they prepared us a lovely dinner as we were really hungry by the time we arrived.

After dinner we still chatted a bit, but we all were pretty exhausted and went to bed/tent early.
