In the morning, as waiting for my breakfast I watched the kids having their physical exercise. Christopher, one of the "carer" explaining me the history of the project, just some years back.

During the day, Damian wrote that he will come and stay here too so that we could cross border into Tanzania together - why not!

I was maiy "chillaxing" and in the afternoon joining the kids.

The next day it was pretty the same, just during afternoon Damian arrived. Oh, on my arrival day a French couple arrived in their caravan and I met them before at Jungle Junction - small world!

As I enjoyed it so much I extended for a fourth night.

We all went one afternoon for a hike through the community with the owner of the Guesthouse. He showed us his own, new Guesthouse (the current one is rented), which he expects to open soon.

Next we passed his own house, which was a bit sticking out as huge, new and fenced in with barb wire. That made me a bit wondering where some of the charity money of the NGO goes to 🤔🤔

On the last day I asked of I could have my laundry back as I wanted to organise my packing already to not loose time in the morning of departure.

Yvette, one of the staff, gave me the bag and luckily I checked it as all my underwear was missing 😳😲 We searched snd it was still there to be washed 🙄... imagine I only noticed in the morning 😲😕

The next morning we ordered breakfast for 8am, but got only served at 8h30...

After check out Dsmian and me finally hit the road at 9h30, only to the next fuel station 😅 They said they take Visa, but unfortunately their machine had no reception and luckily Damian still had RWF to pay my fuel.

It was a nice ride to the border, that is again a one-post stop on the Tanzanian side. When we approached the border area, the queue of lorries started, which we passed until we reached the Tanzanian side for all the documents.

First we needed to show our yellow fever certificate and then we could check out our passports on Rwandan border control. I always love the question at a border "Where do you go to?" - I mean I am at a border to Tanzania... China? Germany? Makes you sometimes wonder...

Next was the window for entry Tanzania. When it was our turn, the border servant gave us a form to fill out - luckily I had a pen as they didn't provide us with one.

After filled out the important things I queued up from the side, so I could slide in as soon as the person in front of me was done. The border servant asked so many questions I couldn't really answer as I am an overlander and don't know where to stay the next night or for how long I will be in the country. We tried our best until he was satisfied and asked for the 50USD Visa fee. I got then my stamp for 90 days and could move on to customs. First was stamping the carnet out of Rwanda and then getting the customs part Tanzania done. Whilst checking the exit part Rwanda I noticed the official forgot to write today's date 🙄, so I went back and asked him to add it!

Tanzania customs wanted the carnet and then the customs officer went o the back. Shortly after she asked for my driving licence - something new! I handed it over to her and she took it to that other person. After a while another customs worker turned up and wanted to see my bike. So we walked over and he went straight to Damians bike, and I told him, that mine is the other one 🙄 He wanted to see the frame number and I told him where he possible could find it. He was more admiring the bikes and then he walked back to the office.... After a while, that felt forever, I finally got that important customs form #32 together with my carnet and driving licence. Damian had to hand in his carnet and passport - strange!

Outside I checked the document and at passport number they put my driving licence number - seriously!! So I went back to customs and complained about and the lady just shrug her shoulders and said "No problem!". I bet any serious police control will go for that story!! I asked her to either change and stamp it with their signature or to do me a new document. They changed and stamped it... does that mean now, my official document in a police check is not my passport, it is my driving licence 🤔

After Damian was done we walked to the building at the gate to s how the documents and to find out what to do as we still haven't paid any road tax. I was a bit worried about that as everybody told me there is a road tax to pay. The official told us to get the bikes and he would give us then back the documents.

Just at the last minute, Damian found a person that could change his last Rwandian Francs to Tanzanian Shillings.

Then we were officially in Tanzania 👏🤩

It was another 2 hours ride to the Guesthouse we had picked - no ATM, no phone shop, not even a fuel station on the way 😳😱 Maybe we should have withdrawn money at the ATM at the border 🤔

Arriving at the town of the Guesthouse we had to search for it ax it was in a back street. Communications was a bit limited as the girl only spoke Swaheli and only a few words English. She showed us the room that was very basic, but clean; bucket shower and squatting toilet, but for 10k TSH, which is not even €3.50 😳😉 That is the cheapest I have stayed so far on all the travelling!!

We quickly changed and luckily Damian had enough money to pay for our accommodation and some food. To be honest, I would have been now seriously stuffed!!!

We found a roadside place for food and I had chips in egg, like a tortilla. That was not too bad. We made a bit of a plan for the next day as I need to obtain some cash and the next ATM is 35mins in our route only...and fuel...and a local SIMcard. I am so glad that the new phone I got in Dubai supports eSIM as I would have been "off" this world!

Back at the Guesthouse the bar was full with locals watching football - must be a very important match!

Back at the room, Damian asked me if I got hot water for a shower. No idea as I just gave me a towell-water clean earlier. So I played around with the set up, but no water at all. So I left Damian to his "problem" and got myself to bed.

3 hours later, I finally managed to fall asleep, I heard water running 😳 I Mt wax the "hot" shower now working. I turned some tabs and put the shower head in a position to rinse without making too much noise. As it was a loud place I had already my ear plugs in...
