It is time for routine maintenance and preparation for the next leg of my travels. I had arranged with Juan, to be with them at Touratech on Tuesday morning. Prior to all the work we had beginning of April, when the suspension had been serviced, made a list of the jobs and spares needed. The only thing that seems to be difficult to arrange was some knobby tyres in whole Dubai 😳 Mitas E07 Dakar was no problem, but I felt like a wee knobbier for Africa. Either the ones on my 'wishlist' were not available or if available, not in my size 😳😟 On Sunday prior I had lunch with Mikael and he had some Motoz Adventure in the warehouse, rear though 130 instead of a 140, but that should be no problem 🙏 and I got a good price. They would be delivered to Touratech for Tuesday. Hurray, finally I got tyres 🤞

Tuesday morning at Touratech the tyres were not there, but Mikael sorted it - and delivered them himself! So now Dushan could start working on my bike, under the supervision of Juan.

In the meantime I cought up on my loose ends I had to sort out including catching up on my social media.

Late afternoon, when they wanted to change my fork oil they realised they have not the correct seals for my bike. Apparently my fork size seems to be different to the Asian market 😳😳 so now it was a hunt for the correct seals and dust covers. I am so gutted with myself as this would have been something I easily could have brought with me when flying out as small and light. So we agreed to check, also me already in Kenya, to see if we are lucky and I would return on Thursday to finish the bike, the remaining jobs.

During the day, especially at the end of the day, a lot of people visited the shop and I got talking to them. Saif aka Dubai Adventure Bikers even interviewed me. You can see the short videos on my 'private' Instagram Steffi_mota_and_travel. 🤓

Thursday I was back and we were still hunting for the seals! They took them out on one fork and one of the boys went out to try his luck at various shops including a company producing seals. 2 hours later he was back, but no seals!! So I have to get them in Nairobi*, or shipped in! So far about my stock front forks on a BMW F700GS in Asia!

At the end of the afternoon my bike was serviced and cleaned and it was time to say Good-bye to the fantastic team of Touratech including Saleh. They were such a great help and I enjoyed my time being there! I enjoyed it so much, or their company, that I went there on Friday again to drop of some muffins and cookies!

Oh, and every day about 17h30 passes by a guy on his bicycle to sell the best Karak Chai 😋😋

* I asked at a shop locally in Nairobi and even they seem to not to have them and not possiible to get them! Serious!!

Luckily Damian needs parts for his BMW GS and he put my order on his list to get it to Kenia! Lets hope it all works out and I finally can service my front forks 🙏🙏
